Creative, lifelike and wildly fun the innovative animal puppet collection from Folkmanis will have children of all ages entertained and amazed for years. From rag doll cats and bumble bees to blue three headed dragons and African elephants Folkmanis brings to life a colorful cast of characters in the form of hand puppets, character puppets, stage puppets and finger puppets that will launch a world of creative stories and childhood adventures. In addition to jungle animals Folkmanis also manufacture cute and cuddly sheepdogs, white mice and mini Monarch butterflies. Folkmanis crafted puppets are comfortable and durable so your hands can easily activate a wide range of arms, legs and heads on the animals and dragons to bring each unique puppet character to life. Now in year 31 Folkmanis has grown from the small cottage industry business begun in Watertown, MA in the late 1960s that supplied the famed Telegraph Avenue street vendors with handmade animal puppets. Founder Judy Folkmanis was surprised to know her home creations that she used to entertain her own kids were fetching top dollar on the streets and when her husband Atis joined the operation in 1976 a few seamstresses were hired and the Folkmanis machine was in high gear. Judy and Atis still oversee all the creative aspects of the business that is run out of their HQ in Emeryville, CA and the Folkmanis line now features over 200 unique designs.
